Hi! My name is Karen and if you couldn’t already tell, I am a serious Red Sox fan. I am also gluten free. This is just a little corner of the web for me to share my adventures as I learn to cook and bake gluten free (as well as rant about the Sox). Enjoy!
Here are a few random things about me, in no particular order of importance:
- I grew up on Cape Cod (in MA), thus the love of the Red Sox.
- I now live in Tennessee.
- I have been gluten-free since May 2007.
- I really don’t remember “learning” to cook, other than just be watching my Mom.
- I have a law degree.
- I have one dog and three cats.
- I married an Aussie because I liked his accent. (Okay, that’s not really the reason, but I do like the accent. Even though he’d already lost most of his accent from living in the U.S. for a while.)
- I love to cook for other people; I love to entertain.
- I catered weddings for two of my friends (very informal, not a lot of people, but still . . . .)
- My dream job would be that of personal chef, focusing on gluten-free and other specialty diets. This is unlikely to become a reality due to lack of professional training, funds, a decent kitchen, or the courage to ever open my own business.
- I actually do like the law, and find it fascinating. Being a lawyer isn’t half-bad.
If you want to learn more random things about me, Carrie at Ginger Lemon Girl interviewed me for the February edition of her Monthly Gluten Free Grill.

This is Loki, the official taste-tester. Something must have been yummy!
